For: Parents of Juniors and Seniors:
A free aptitude test will be given to 11th and 12th grade students on Wednesday, October 15th from 8:40am to 11:30am, in the Tesoro High School Library.
Tesoro High School endorses this test as an additional method for students to learn about their vocational aptitudes. The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is a group of ten tests designed to measure a student’s aptitude in five separate career field areas and also provides an indication of academic aptitude. The ASVAB is an extensively researched test battery developed by experts in the testing field, counselors, and educators. Students will be given the option of whether to release or not release information to recruiters.
The test is administered as a courtesy of the Armed Forces at no cost or obligation to the student. This test is appropriate for all students and we believe your child will be better able to define his/her career choices based on this test. Each student will receive a copy of his/her test scores along with an interpretation approximately three weeks after the test. The interpretation includes a career survey, which when coupled with the aptitude results, enables the student to focus in on possible careers and college majors.
In the changing world today, it is imperative that our young people have every opportunity made available to them in which to explore their options for a promising and rewarding future. If your son/daughter is interested, please complete the form below and have them return it to the Tesoro High School Career Center by Friday, October 10th. Or, you can email the coordinator of the testing, Anne Moore at almoore@capousd.org, giving your permission for your student to take the test.
